FSAS has accepted a challenge from the district to fund Project Lead The Way (PLTW), an exciting instructional approach geared toward preparing students to be the most innovative and productive leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and to make meaningful, pioneering contributions to our world.
The PLTW curriculum was implemented with this year’s 7th grade class but in order to have the most meaningful impact the program must grow with students as they move through middle and high school. FSAS has a goal of raising $65,000 in donations order to expand PLTW into 8th grade next year and keep the program vibrant.
Your support is critical to the success of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts for PLTW. The funding model for public schools in the State of Michigan has made it difficult in recent years for the district to earmark funds to create and/or sustain innovative instructional programs and curricular advancements that have distinguished the Saline educational experience.
